Whoop Whoop

Hello everyone!

What a fab start to the day! I discovered this morning that i won TWO of the prizes at the CLUB ANYA blog hop yesterday! I won the sentiments and the Fall Anya and Ian and the Karate Anya and Ian! I am super chuffed and very excited! I always have such bad luck so it makes a nice change!

I had an amusing phonecall from my mother last night! She had watched the Xfactor and was outraged by the exit of Jamie! I had to remind her that he had the least votes! It wasnt Simon Cowells doing it was the public who did not vote for him. Seriously she spent half an hour complaining about it!

And Twilight AHHHHHHHHHHHH i really dont like it lol! Seriously i love Vampire films - you should see my DVD collection! But this film is bad! And my friend thinks he is dragging me to the new one (he wants to see it but thinks its a bit chic flick so wants me to go to cover the fact he likes it up). To be honest Ru has never had great taste in films lol! He thought the Bournes were Epic!!! Each to there own - i like films that alot of people dont, but i certainly am not going to waste 2 1/2 hours of my life sitting through that rubbish. I would rather watch a Harry Potter Film or go to the dentist and thats really saying something for me.

Talking of films has anyone seen the Escapist? Its really cool, i love that its rough, they havent made a glossy portrayl of the prison system. I love Shawshank Redemption its one of the best films but i do feel in places the prison has that hollywood glossover! In the Escapist - a british cast film its very basic and i like that - no gloss!

I am waiting on tender hooks for Tim Burtons new baby! AHHHHHHH cannot wait Johny Depp looks kinda scarey!

What did i watch last night? A Clock Work Orange, not for the faint of heart and certainly not one to be seen by youngsters! But my its epic and i love it. Its an oldy in my collection but much loved!

Anyway my mojo has taken a vacation - when it returns i will post lol! In the mean time i will hop to see all of your wonderful creations!

PS these are purely my opinion please do not take offence to my dislike of twilight or hunt me down and throw tomatos at me!

Club Anya - Pattern me not

Hello there, i hope you are all well! Is it raining where you are? Luckily for us on the south coast it's actually lovely and bright here but its so windy. Thursday night a piece of rubbish that i had left in the garden that should have been taken down the tip (i hate going and will do all in my power to put it off) went straight through one of our kitchen windows and so that was replaced yesterday. It was my own silly fault for being so lazy! But just shows how windy it was!

This card is for

CLUB ANYA

The challenege set was to use no patterned paper! What a challenge - i didnt think i could do it and then i was on

PAM'S BLOG

and felt inspired by her lollipop Anya Card! So i used the general layout and then made it my own. I didnt like the colours i used at first but i really wanted to use the purple bazzil bling cardstock - but now im getting used to the colour combo its growing on me! Of course i made her 3d as i'm loving that at the moment lol. I also used one of Jess' Sentiment stamps, I love them and think they were one of the best purchases i have made as they are super useful!

have a great day

Siiiiiiiilent Niiiiiiiight!

Hi there ladies i hope you are all well this morning. Thank you for all your lovely comments the last few weeks they are so up lifting and really boost my confidence! So thank you!

Todays card is a bit of a new one on me - they are teeny cards! They are 4.5 x 4.5 Kraft Cards, considering i usually always use a 6x6 card i found this a little hard, there is only so much space to fill and so i seemed to under embellish for worry i would over do it! This card is a set of 5 and they come in a little box i made! Once i have finished decorating the box i will post for you to see!

Don't you just love this Gillian Roberts cutie? Its called Christmas Stocking and i just adore it! I didnt love it as much as i do when i bought it but as soon as i stamped it out i knew i would love it! lol His sweet little face is lovely!

I made the music paper in the background using a paper mania stamp duo called Silent Night. The other paper is MME! I even did ink distressing but you cant see it lol - im rubbish!

Being so completely unable to wai for my Magnolia Stamp Club set i did a little reckie on the net and discovered that the stamps are probably going to wedding ones and boy are they cute - they are so gorgeous im really excited! I got this info from ladies who had beento the Stempel Mekka in Germany earlier in the year! I even got to have a glimpse at a bride, groom and bridesmaid! AGHHHHHHH Cute is not the word - i cannot wait! lol So anywayStill waiting on that and my Magnolia Christmas stamps - i have two through but still awaiting the others!

To make this card i used:
Papers: MME and Cardstock from stash
Stamps: Gillian Roberts - Christmas Stocking, Paper Mania - Silent Night, Paper Makeup Stamps - Sentiment
Embellies: Ribon from stash, stickles - frosted lace
Copics - W1, W4, W5, C01, R24, R89, RV32, RV02, R11, R20, Y04, Y13, YG21, G99

Well i hope you have a wonderful sunday, im off to finish the box and to make a scrummy roast!

Club Anya - I want to be just like........Anita

Hello how are you all this saturday morning? Me? Im fuming! As some of you may know yesterday i was supposed to drive up to Birmingham to stay with my friends and spend the weekend crafting it up at the NEC! Well Mills has had a tummy bug this week and so yesterday i thought it unfair to leave her but my brother promised to come around in the wee hours of the morning so i could drive up to James' house collect his sister and make my way to crafting heaven!

Simples! One would think but no!

I very rarely ask my family to babysit (mainly because id prefer being at home crafting then out!) and the times my family do have mills its generally because they want to see her and i dont want to socialse lol.

So as an incentive i said to my brother - do this as my birthday pressie! He loved the idea of not spending money on me so he agreed. So im up and ready to leave at 5am as agreed and im calling and calling and no answer. I was fuming by the time he TEXT me about 10 mins ago to say he went out and got blind drunk last night and has a hang over so wont be coming to babysit! Agggghhhh i just wonder why he went out in the first place - i get the feeling he had no intention of coming over at 5am. SO i miss the amazing craft show and im in a VERY bad mood! I knew what i was going to buy there too. And to top it off i wont get to see my friend James until after Christmas now!

Ok enough of my moaning! Todays card is for the

CLUB ANYA

contest which is

I Wanna be Just Like Anita Hovey!

And boy do i, her card is fabulous. I only hope she feels ive done her card justice! I used Superstar Anya and made her 3d. Dont you just love the hotlips paper! I do, its by DCWV - Rock Star pack! I went a little crazy with the diamond dust again - put it on the frame, her glasses and boa! Frosted was the look i was going for, not sure i acheived that though lol. The stars are covered in Glamour dust - loving that too. The faboulous sentiment is also cut from the rockstar paper!

To make this card i used:
Stamps
: Superstar Anya
Paper: DCWV Rock Star pad, Bazzil Basics
Embellies: Pearls, Cricut Frame, Fiskars star punch, Glamour Dust, Diamond Dust and Ribbon from Stash.

Anyway im off to sulk some more, i know its up to my brother how he spends his time but he knew how excited i was! On the up side though Mills is much better today - thats nursery for you always coming home with something lol!

Well have a fab day and if you are at the NEC im green with Envy!

Ps ignore the wet glue patch - a pearl dropped off so had to readhere before photographing and it was still wet!

What a difference a day makes....and TGF! ANYA INK CHALLENGE TOO!

What a difference a day makes!

Give me 24hrs and one of my fave TGF images and im back in the game! lol. No i am going to say this ....and dont adjust your screens....i actually LIKE this card! I guess because it was so much fun to make and i still got to ply with lots of different materials and go over the top but this time in a different direction that more suits me. Gotta say i think its the stamps! Its no secret that TGF are my fave stamps and i think they go along wy o me actually liing what ive done! lol I find them so easy to use and there is almost a stamp for any occassion.

SO i came across this really cool challenge blog called....

ANYA INK

And this week there challenge is to make anya 3d. Well this is one of my fave things to do since the tutorial over at Just Magnolia, an so i was loving the idea. And this is my submission!

On a more sombering note i made this card with a special girl in mind Jaimie! The little girl who was left for dead and whos mother was murdered in a senseless and unprovoked attack in their home. I have to be honest when i first saw the information on blogs and the idea of making a card i was caught in two minds. I thought it was such a worthy course and i felt so much for this little girl. But if im honest i was worried about being insensitive. I cant imagine what she is going through and what she will be feeling, but i tried to remember being 11 and thought how i would feel if i was her. I was just worried because im not sure bits of card glitter and paper with words from strangers would make me feel any better. And my gosh has that girl been through enough already. And then i read something on

SHARONS BLOG

which really hit home. She made me see its not about a fancy card or kind words - its about restoring a traumatised girls faith in humans, and society. People have taken her mother away, and nothing i do or say will change or take away that pain, but hopefully receiving these cards will make that little girl know she is treassured and all is not lost and not everyone is monster and hopefully in time help her restore her faith and build confidence and trust back.

And if you would like to send a card
Please send your card to the address below:

Jaimie Cates
c/o Mont Vernon Fire Station
Main Street
Mont Vernon,
NH 03057
USA

I hope that didnt seem cold or heartless!

So anyway i have decided i too want to send a card to Jaimie and i hope you guys will too.

What a disaster - EXCESS

What a disaster this card turned into!

It looks like someone went a bit crazy!

My only defence is that in my head it looked so much different!

I decided i wanted to use my valentines bits and i stamped the key and heart lock onto chipboard and used inks and cosmic shimmers to add colour! mmmm and then i added material and netting and gold leaf and more shimmerz and then i didnt stop and it looks like my carft table threw up on some card!

Never mind! My diamond dust and Sparkle n Sprinkle flock arrived today so onwards and upwards lol.

Are you in need of new stamps but right now cannot afford them - check out

THE AUCTION ROOM

You can swap stamps and rejuvinate your collection! plus its free - no money changes hands!
There are currently 5 fab stamps up for swaps!

Hey there ladies second card in one day - im on a roll

Kraftin Kimmies Stamps Challenge Blog

This stamp is awesome - i love the image. I think i have ruined it slightly! This so didnt turn out how i wanted it to! lol. The challenge is tag - so i made a little one and covered it with glitter and then glitter got everywhere lol!

To make this card i used:
Papers
: Basic Grey - Phoebe - Haight Street
Cardstock: SU Tempting Turquoise

Simon Says..... All That Sparkles

Hey there ladies. Did you all hve a good weekend? Last night i popped in a the TGF VSN! Oh my what a blast - I learnt some very enlightening fcts about some of the team and i have to say i see some of them in a new light - Yes Pam im looking at you! lol! I have to say Between Pam, Mercy, Rachel and Jess's comments i was in stitches! Those ladies should have their own stand up show! It was like hanging out with a bunch of guys - great fun!

So this is my first card ive posted for a few days and its for

SIMON SAYS STAMP CHALLENGE

The challenge his week is ALL THAT SPARKLES

Not sure i like this card - it looked so different in my head and i always get dissapointed because the end result is never what i envisioned! I used my new MME Christmas glitter papers (which are covered in glitter) glitter, glitter glue and Shimmerz spritz. I have to say im not that impressed by the shimmerz, i have some of there paints and they are fab but im not so keen on the spritz i think Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist is much more effective! But stil IRL life it does shimmer but more from the glitter on the paper than the spritz.

I made a little boo boo! Can you see that the copic ink has bled into the white glitter on the hat! How annoying lol!

To make this card i used:
Papers:
MME - Signature Christmas 12x12 Glitter Book (Quixotic Paperie)
Cardstock: SU tempting Turquoise
Stamps:
Sarah Kay - Noel - Santa (Quixotic Paperie), Paper Makeup Stamps - Season's Greetings Sentiment Set (Quixotic Paperie)
Embellishments: Ribbon (stash)
Stocking Charm (Quixotic Paperie) Pearls (Quixotic Paperie) Snowflakes (Cricut Machine and Xcut snowflake punches)

Dont forget its the first five auctions at

THE AUCTION ROOM

Christmas sentiment

Are you like me and when it comes to buying stamps you always neglect to buy some sentiment stamps! I do it all the time as i would rather spend the money on an image lol. However i realised i didnt have any christmas sentiment stamps to use and was in a little bit of a pickle! I started looking for some and found them rather pricey for what they are. But i managed to pick up a great deal from

Quixotic Paperie

HERE

5 fantastic sentiment stamps from Paper Makeup Stamps for only £5.95! What a bargain! And they are all great - there isnt one that i would not use - i love all of them lol! So now i have no excuse not to finish my christmas cards.

Fantastic Service from Quixotic Paperie

Yesterday morning at 1am i decided to buy a few bits online! I went to several sites - 2 were having site issues, others were saying postage could take a while etc etc.

Then i landed upon

QUIXOTIC PAPERIE

Not only could i buy everything i wanted there but at great prices and i didnt need to use paypal etc.

So i placed my order and that was that. By lunchtime i had an email from Elaine to say that my goods would be dispatched that day! WOW i have never had service that quick buying craft bits before! Im not an eassy customer to impress but boy did these guys impress me.

And whats more the parcel arrived this morning! so it all litterally took a day! I was super chuffed and will definately be making QUIXOTIC PAPERIE my regular shop! Why dont you pop by - you wont be dissapointed!

What did i get?

Well i got a few bits but amoung them were

MME Signature CHristmas Glitter 12x12 book (54 sheets of awesome MME glittered christmas papers!) Even the cover of the papers is glittered!
DCWV 8x8 Rockstar pad
Kraftin Kimmie Stamp
Sarah Kay fathr christmas stamp
Stickles - various
Wooden snowflakes (to make some personal decors)
Shimmerz Spritz
and a few bits and bobs

Im so going to be having fun this evening playing!

Postal strikes have been suggested for this week - but this morning my postie arrived with a bundle of post for me - alot of it posted over 2 weeks ago - so its swings and round abouts at the moment. I do think though that the PO should not charge 1st class if the know that the package isnt going to get there at first class time!

Anyway off to play now!

The Sugar Bowl - Challenge 22 Kathy's Sketch

This is my entry for

The Sugar Bowl

The challenege was a SKETCH and LACE

I loved this sketch - i thought it was fantastic!! Unfortunately i didnt have any lace to use so i used sheer ribbon instead i hope that will be ok! I made a lolipop flower to make up for it though lol!

These papers are my absolute favourite - i love them so very much! They are the BG Indian Summer papers and i love them! The richness of the colour and delicate patterns are lovely and they are just so beautiful! It was painful using them - i didnt want to but its a waste having them if i wont use them.

I am so excited over the next few days i should receive my Magnolia christmas stamps i ordered and then another order should come of the MME CHristmas glittered pad (it looks vintagey) stamps, glitter, pearls etc! I had a little spend - but i will talk about that tomorrow! The postman though is bing naughty here so it taking ages for anything to arrive!

The papers are SEI the last few sheets of what i had left of that kit! I know its a simple card but i wanted Kitty to be focal!
